New Data Protection Regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)

Under the new data protection regulations introduced from 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if they have provided consent to do so.

If practices are sending messages about recommended treatment for the management of a specific health issue, then this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients, not marketing purposes.

If you would like ot opt out of any future contact via text messaging, then please complete the form and indicate in the marked section.

Test Results

Please call after 10am to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

Child Development Assessment

The surgery staff will send appointments for these important health checks.

If you wish, you can make an appointment with the receptionist yourself.

Cervical Smears

We offer cervical screening to women between the ages of 25 and 64.

Invitations are sent every three years between the ages of 25 and 49, and every 5 years between the ages of 50 and 64.

Emergency Contraception

If you require emergency contraception you will need an appointment with Doctor for this to be prescribed.

The morning after pill is effective for up to 72 hours but the efficacy diminishes rapidly with time.

The latest information is that it is only 58% effective at 72 hours so you will be offered an appointment the same day.

Your request is confidential regardless of your age and if you require a private area to request this please ask reception.

Family Planning

We offer a full range of family planning services  and advice on the Pill and other methods of contraception.

Make an appointment to see the Doctors during surgery hours.

Home Visits

Please ring the surgery before 10am.

Home visits are available only if the patient is absolutely too ill to attend the surgery.

Please use the service thoughtfully, and ring as early as possible in the morning to request a visit.

The a member of our reception team will ask for further information to enable the doctor to determine the priority and nature of the visit.
